Electrical engineer John Polk moved to Fairfield in July of 2020 for a new job at Dexter Laundry.
"I have really enjoyed my time at Dexter Laundry and hope to continue my career with them for as long as I can," John says.
John grew up in Lemont, Illinois, but has been in Iowa since his undergrad days at Central College in Pella. He moved to Fairfield to be close by Dexter Laundry where he gets to experience Iowa South's quick commute times.
"Quality of life is great, Fairfield has what I need to survive and be happy," John says of his time here so far.
John and his fiance Sara are looking forward to seeing more of Fairfield and the surrounding area. Though John moved in the summer of 2020, he still has a lot to explore.
"Now that it is warmer, I plan on going kayaking at the lake, playing frisbee golf at the park, and more outdoor things like that," John said.
Other items on his to-do list include getting out on bike trails and walking around the square downtown.
